Residents here think in building names.

Playa Vista is twenty-three named buildings and enclaves across two phases of construction. Each has its own layout, its own residents, its own temperament. This is the only site that lets you browse the way the neighborhood actually does.

About the neighborhood

A master planned community between the wetlands and the bluff.

Playa Vista sits on the former Hughes Aircraft site in west Los Angeles, between the Ballona Wetlands and the Westchester bluff. It was built in two phases over roughly fifteen years, and it reads as two neighborhoods inside one.

Phase one is warm limestone and greige stucco with terracotta tile and arched entries. Phase two is white and gray stucco with cedar slat screens and stacked ledgestone. Each has its own feel. Both share Central Park, Concert Park, the bluff trail, and the Runway for shops and dining.
